FAQ
Practical answers for choosing, installing and supporting Outluma mobile-connectivity hardware. Start with the surface, then confirm the terminal, power source and deployment conditions.
Choose the right mounting route
Which Outluma mount should I choose?
Use the contact surface as the first decision. Choose the ST70 only for a verified ferrous-steel panel; the ST128 for smooth, clean interior glass while parked; the ST3-07 for stationary use on firm, level ground; or the ST30-W only after confirming the wall or pipe dimensions and the supporting structure.
How do I check whether my vehicle roof is magnetic?
Do not rely on the vehicle model name alone. Test the exact placement area with an ordinary magnet. Steel body panels can accept a magnetic system; aluminum, fiberglass, composite panels and glass cannot. Paint, wrap seams, ridges and curvature can also reduce full contact.
Can I use the magnetic mount on aluminum or fiberglass?
No. The ST70 requires verified ferrous steel. Aluminum and fiberglass need a separately verified fixed, landing-disc or structural solution. Outluma does not currently list a universal adhesive conversion kit for every roof.
Can the suction mount be used outside the vehicle?
The ST128 is listed for clean, smooth, nonporous interior glass and parked deployment. It is not presented as a road-speed exterior mount. Inspect the cups, clean the glass and re-check the seal before every session.
Is the tripod designed for driving or permanent installation?
No. The ST3-07 is a temporary stationary deployment stand for firm, level ground. Stabilize the area, route the cable to avoid a trip hazard and pack the system away before moving the vehicle.
Compatibility and installation
Is the Starlink Mini terminal included?
No. Outluma sells mounting, deployment, power and routing accessories. The Starlink Mini terminal and service plan are not included unless a product page explicitly says otherwise.
Is Outluma affiliated with Starlink or SpaceX?
No. Outluma is an independent accessory brand and is not affiliated with or endorsed by SpaceX. Starlink is a trademark of SpaceX. Product titles use "Compatible with Starlink Mini" to describe fit.
Can I drive at highway speed with the mount installed?
Do not assume so. Current Outluma launch products do not carry a published road-speed rating unless the individual product page states one. Surface material, full contact, roof curvature, wind load, cable routing and installation quality all matter. Remove temporary mounts before driving unless a verified product-specific instruction says otherwise.
How do I prepare a mounting surface?
Use a clean, dry and structurally sound surface. Remove dust, oils and loose contamination. Confirm every contact point sits fully on the intended surface; do not bridge ridges, seams, trim or unsupported glass edges.
What should I verify before ordering a power cable?
Confirm terminal model, source voltage, connector type, available current, cable route and fuse or circuit requirements. The current vehicle cable is supplier-quoted at 3 m; electrical compatibility remains the buyer's responsibility unless Outluma confirms the exact configuration in writing.
What is included in a bundle?
The product-page "What's included" list controls. Bundle images may show components together for orientation; a terminal, vehicle, router or case is not included unless it appears in that written list.
Orders, shipping and returns
When will my order ship?
In-stock standard orders are normally prepared for dispatch within 3 business days. Carrier transit time begins after dispatch and is an estimate. Any special-order, remote-area or product-specific exception is shown at checkout or communicated before fulfillment.
How much is shipping?
Available methods and charges are calculated at checkout based on destination and order contents. Outluma is not advertising a universal free-shipping threshold at this time.
Can I return an item?
You may request a return within 30 days of delivery. The item must be new, unused, complete and in its original packaging. Contact support before sending anything back; unapproved returns are not accepted.
What if my order arrives damaged, incomplete or incorrect?
Keep the packaging and contact support@outluma.com with the order number plus clear photos of the package, label, item and affected area. We will review the evidence and provide the next step.
How do I request hardware support?
Email support@outluma.com with the order number, product, installation surface, deployment conditions and clear photos or video. Our target is an initial review within 3 business days. The available remedy depends on the issue, product terms and evidence.
Need a fit check?
Send the vehicle or structure, surface material, terminal model and planned use to support@outluma.com before ordering.
